The Department of Computer Science will be hosting a virtual and in-person Fall CS Career Fair!

Virtual CS Career Fair: Thursday, September, 16, 2021 from 10AM-2PM through Handshake

In-Person CS Career Fair: Friday, September 17, 2021 from 10AM-2PM in the South Ballroom of the Student Union Memorial Student Center

There’s a new club on campus! The Google Developers Student Club (DSC)!

Developer Student Clubs help students bridge the gap between theory and practice by allowing them to understand, use, and reflect on technology all with the support of Google and Google Developers! Best of all, they are open to students from all programs and levels of study interested in growing as a developer.

By joining DSC, you will have the opportunity to connect with other students on campus and all over North America interested in developer technologies. You can learn about a wide range of technical topics and gain new skills through hands-on workshops, hackathons, expert talks, and community projects. You will be able to apply your new learnings and connections to build great solutions for local problems. Advance your skills, career, and network. Give back to your community by helping others learn as well. You can learn more here.

The*gameHERS

The*gameHERS is an inclusive community that connects women, non-binary individuals, and other marginalized genders who play video games. I’m reaching out to see if your members would like to be added to our database for possible career opportunities and/or internships.

  • The primarily male-run gaming industry tends to hire men, even though other genders make up nearly half of all gamers. Therefore, women and gender minorities are underrepresented in games and may feel left out of gaming communities.

  • Many game companies want to hire more women so that they can appeal to a broader, more inclusive audience. So, The*gameHERS is working with large, mid, and small gaming companies to create a professional networking database of talented women and gender minorities with desirable technical skills who would be interested in entering the gaming industry.

  • Game companies will look to this database to hire more diverse employees.

If you are interested in being listed in our networking database for future job opportunities and/or internships, please enter your email here . Keep in mind that you don’t have to play video games to get a job in the industry!
